MISSION OF TACOMA DELTA FOUNDATION 

The purpose of the Tacoma Delta Foundation is to create funding opportunities for the support of youth and underserved populations in the Puget Sound area.  It is organized exclusively for one or more of the purposes as specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. 

The Tacoma Delta Foundation’s specified objectives:

1. Support the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Tacoma Alumnae Chapter’s scholarship programs

2. Support the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Tacoma Alumnae Chapter’s youth mentoring and leadership development programs.

3. Provide philanthropic support to all charitable endeavors created or sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Tacoma Alumnae Chapter

To facilitate the Tacoma Delta Foundation’s ability to carry out its objectives, the organization has entered into annual written agreement with the Tacoma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  Through this collaborate partnership we:

• Develop and support programs to strengthen enhance initiatives relative to the Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Five Point Thrust

• Support projects that improve a continuum of learning via scholarships that allow students to pursue their education

• Support projects for children and families on a non-discriminatory basis

• Provide education and advocacy for policies on critical issues impacting children and vulnerable adults

• Solicit grants and funds to support and strengthen the programs of the Tacoma Alumnae Chapter
