SUCCESS STORIES
JALEN VICTORIA COATS

After graduating from New York University in 2009,

I worked as a DJ and tutor in New York City for two years. I then completed a Master of Philosophy in Political Thought and Intellectual History at the University of Cambridge in England. Upon completion of that program, I spent a few months backpacking through Europe by train. My favorite cities were Berlin and Rome. I returned to the US in 2011 to begin graduate studies in Political Science at the University of Chicago. I spent the fall of 2014 in Marseille, France learning French and did some traveling around the Mediterranean region afterwards, including an adventure-filled three weeks in Egypt. I received my MA from UChicago in early 2015 and have since worked as a video producer in Los Angeles. Currently, I'm working as a freelance producer and writer while plotting more entrepreneurial endeavors.
