RED AND WHITE SCHOLARSHIP GALA 2021

Dear Family and Friends of Tacoma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc:

We invite you to our first virtual “Red and White Scholarship Gala.” The Covid-19 pandemic has made it necessary for us to seek support for our scholarship event through technology, in our search for funding to support deserving, high achieving African American students.

For the past decade,Tacoma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has brought together hundreds of community leaders, grass root workers and advocates to share in Delta’s efforts to promote and support African American high school students throughout the Greater Tacoma and Puget Sound Area. These students have prepared themselves to enter college or vocational careers. As we all are aware, postsecondary education has become increasingly expensive, making it almost impossible for a high school student to secure full payment for a college degree. We have assisted in sponsoring 84 students in pursuit of postsecondary education, 75 of whom completed their education with our continued financial help.

The virtual Red and White Gala will take place on March 20, 2021, where guests can bid on several auction/raffle items throughout the day (starting at 10 AM). You can view auction items online at www.tacomadeltafoundation.org. Activities will be held from 7-9 pm (PST), with the raffle drawings being held throughout the event.

Proceeds from the Red and White Gala enables the Tacoma Alumnae Chapter to assist students who may otherwise be unable to further their education after high school. To make this event successful, we need your support. Your contribution would ensure that funds are available to support these incredibly talented, academically inclined, and motivated students with their financial needs for college.
